Its durable, cushion construction is designed to protect your spine and soften hard surfaces. This professional-quality mat features closed-cell foam construction that withstands repeated use and can be easily rolled up, making it a great option for multi-use facilities. Features a smooth surface for ease of movement. CARE & CLEANING: Store in a dry location way from direct sunlight, Do not store anything on top of the mat as it may cause permanent indentations, Do not apply adhesive tape to the surface, Keep away from direct heat, Never use corrosive cleaning products on mat, Be sure mat is dry before rolling up for storage. If necessary, clean using: METHOD 1 - Fill a spray bottle with water and add 20-30 drops of tea tree oil. Spray the mat and wipe with a clean cloth. Let it air dry unrolled. METHOD 2 - Wipe the mat with cloth dipped in soap suds or laundry power solution. Rinse with water and wipe dry with towel or cloth. Questions or concerns? Four T's of Buying an Exercise Mat

Type - Material & Texture

Pilates and general exercise mats are often constructed of either closed-cell foam or Thermal Plastic Elastomer (TPE) to offer supreme protection against hard surfaces.

Yoga mats require a greater 'stickiness' to help with poses. Many yoga mats are made from PVC, natural rubber, and jute.

Thickness - Thick or Thin

Look for a thick mat when purchasing a Pilates or general exercise mat to help support and cushion your workout. This will help protect the wrists, knees, elbows and spine. (Range between 0.2 inch/5 millimeter – 0.6 inch/15 millimeter).

Yoga mats tend to be thin so you can feel a strong connection to the ground during poses, although thicker mats are available. (Range between 0.06 inch/1.4 millimeter - 0.25 inch/6 millimeter).

Traction - Smooth vs. Grip

Mats with smooth surfaces offer the ability to easily transition between poses and help with sliding movements — great for Pilates.

Mats with a ribbed or textured surface can help prevent slipping and provide good grip to accommodate rapid sets and reps while stopping the mat from moving against the floor — ideal for yoga and general exercise.

Travel - Portability

Thinner mats made with lightweight materials like TPE are easily stored in a mat bag or can be carried over the shoulder using a mat strap.

Mats with a permanent home tend to be extra-thick and are often made of closed-cell foam or rubber.
